Titan conferred Helen Keller award

 

Titan Industries Limited is to be a recipient of the Helen Keller Award instituted by the National Centre for the Promotion of Employment for Disabled People [NCPEDP], a joint initiative of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and Actionaid.

The Helen Keller Award has been instituted for the recognition of individuals and organisations who have contributed to the cause of promoting employment for disabled people and can thus serve as a positive role model for others to emulate.

Ten awards are to be presented in the following categories:

Category A: Persons with disability who have been active as ambassadors of the cause of employment for disabled people and are a positive role model for others. (Three awards)

Category B: Non-disabled persons from within the disability sector who have contributed substantially to the cause of promoting employment for disabled people over an extended period of time. (Two awards)

Category C: Non-disabled persons from outside the disability sector who have been active in promoting the cause of employment for persons with disabilities.(Two awards )

Category D: Companies / organisations / institutions who share NCPEDP's vision, and through their policies and practices demonstrate their belief in equal rights and gainful employment for persons with disabilities.(Three awards)

Titan Industries Limited is to receive an award under Category D. The other two recipients in this category are Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and Calcutta-based Infar ( India ) Limited.
