The Tata Motors European Technical Centre (TMETC) was set up in the UK in 2005 as a 100 per cent subsidiary of Tata Motors. The centre is engaged in design engineering and the development of products for the automotive industry.

TMETC has considerable experience from dealing with European equipment manufacturers, first-tier suppliers and engineering consultancies. Its engineers have designed and built cars from scratch for several big European auto companies.

TMETC works in synergy with the Tata Motors' Engineering Research Centre at Pune.

Areas of business
TMETC’s has expertise in power train and driveline, systems integration and electronics, legislation and homologation, manufacturing and production engineering, chassis, ride and handling, styling, and body and trim craftsmanship.

The TMETC team uses its capabilities to improve consistency in internal and external quality of the vehicles that roll out of Tata Motors plants. The organisation also provides key inputs in modelling of designs using computer-aided design techniques.
