Indian Steel and Wire Products (ISWP) was established in 1920 and was one of the first wire drawing plants in India. It was incorporated in 1935 and later acquired by Tata Steel in 2003. Today, the company operates as a subsidiary of the global steel major.

ISWP operates two units – the wire unit and the steel roll manufacturing unit. The wire unit comprises a wire rod mill and a wire mill. The steel rolling facility operates as a division of the company and is known as the Jamshedpur Engineering and Machine Manufacturing Company (JEMCO). The division is equipped with a modern roll foundry, sophisticated machine shop and well-equipped laboratory.

Areas of business
The wire unit produces a wide variety of iron and steel products, that include welding electrodes, galvanised iron wire, nails, barbed wire and wire rod.

JEMCO produces iron and steel rolls for integrated steel plants, and engineering castings for steel plants, power plants and the automobile industry.
